The Youth Services program helps young people, ages 14-21, overcome barriers which prohibit them from completing their education or getting a job.
The following services are easy to use and available at no-cost to the participants:
- Tutorial
- Preparation for TAKS tests
- Job readiness preparation
- Mentoring
- Work experience
- Training
Below are the criteria to qualify for a youth training program under the Workforce Investment Act:
- Between the ages of 14 and 21?
- Have one of these barriers:
- Deficient in basic literacy skills
- Foster child, homeless or runaway
- Individual who failed TAKS
